Attic Clean-Out Service; Suffolk County, Long Island

Attics collect everything that doesn’t have a home anywhere else. Old luggage, holiday decorations, baby furniture, boxes nobody has opened in fifteen years; and getting it all out means climbing up and hauling it down through a hatch or a narrow staircase. Suffolk Strong Hauling handles attic clean-outs across Long Island so you don’t have to. We go up, we bring it down, and we haul it away.

Free estimates. Same-week availability. No obligation.

What We Do

An attic clean-out is one of the trickier junk removal jobs because of the access. Pull-down stairs, low clearance, summer heat, and decades of stored items packed into an awkward space; it’s not a comfortable place to work, and it’s not safe to do alone. We send a crew that handles the job from top to bottom: up into the attic, down the stairs, and out to the truck. You don’t go up. We do.

Typical jobs range from $149–$550 depending on the volume of material and the type of attic access.

What We Remove

  • Boxes and bins of stored household goods
  • Old luggage and travel gear
  • Baby furniture, cribs, high chairs, and strollers
  • Holiday and seasonal decorations
  • Old clothing and linens
  • Holiday decorations and seasonal items
  • Furniture pieces and bed frames
  • Books, records, and media collections
  • Insulation debris mixed with stored items
  • Old electronics and small appliances
  • Anything else you want gone

Common Situations We Help With

Most of our attic clean-out calls across Long Island come from one of these:

– You haven’t been up there in years and have no idea what’s in it

– You’re selling the home and need the attic empty for inspection

– You’re having roofing or insulation work done and need it cleared first

– A parent passed and the attic is part of the estate

– You finally decided to convert the attic into livable space

– You’re downsizing and the attic is the last thing to deal with

Why Hire Someone Instead of Doing It Yourself

Three things make attic clean-outs harder than people expect: the access is awkward, the space is uncomfortable, and one person can’t safely hand things down a pull-down staircase alone. We send a crew so one person is in the attic and another is on the stairs or below — the way it’s supposed to be done. It’s faster, safer, and you end up with a cleared attic instead of a sore back.

Types of Attic Clean-Outs we Handle

General Storage Clean-outs

The most common call. Things went into the attic and never came out. Old furniture from a renovation, boxes from a move ten years ago, kids’ toys nobody plays with anymore. We clear it all out in a single visit whether you’re in Northport, East Northport, Greenlawn, or anywhere else across Suffolk County.

Pre-Roofing and Insulation Work

Roofers and insulation contractors often need the attic clear before they can work. We come in before your contractor starts and remove everything so the job can proceed without delay or extra charges from your contractor.

Attic Conversion Preparation

Converting an attic into a bedroom, office, or bonus room is a significant home improvement; but it starts with getting it completely empty. We clear it out so your contractor has a clean slate to work from.

Estate and Inherited Property

Attics on older Long Island homes hold decades of belongings. If you’re managing an estate and the attic hasn’t been touched in years, we handle it as a standalone job or as part of a estate clean-out .

Pre-Sale and Pre-Inspection Clean-Outs

Home inspectors go into the attic. Buyers ask about it. An attic packed with old belongings can raise questions about access, ventilation, and condition. We clear it out so your inspector and your buyers see the space — not the clutter.

Combined Whole-House Clear-Outs

Attic jobs often come alongside a basement clean-out or a garage clean-out. We can handle all three spaces in one visit, which saves time and is usually more cost-effective than scheduling separately.

Basement Clean-Out: Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a attic clean-out cost?

It depends on the volume of material and the type of attic access. Most attic clean-outs run between $149 and $550. Full-floor attics with heavy accumulation or difficult access may cost more. We give you a price before we start — no surprises. Call (631) 403-2597 for a free estimate.

Do you go up into the attic yourselves?

Yes. That’s the job. We send a crew so one person is in the attic and another is receiving items on the stairs or below. You don’t need to go up at all.

What if the attic only has pull-down stairs or a hatch opening?

We handle those regularly. Pull-down stairs and hatch-access attics are the most common type on Long Island. We work within whatever access the space has.

Can you remove large or heavy items from the attic?

Yes, within reason. Most attic items — furniture pieces, old appliances, large boxes — can be brought down by a two-person crew. We’ll flag anything unusual when we quote the job.

Do I need to sort through everything before you arrive?

No. Tell us what goes and what stays. If you’re not sure about certain items, we can set them aside as we work and you can decide before we take them out.

My attic has old insulation mixed in with the stored items; is that a problem?

Insulation debris mixed in with household items is something we encounter regularly. We remove the stored items and associated loose debris. If the attic has a significant insulation issue or suspected asbestos-containing insulation (common in pre-1980 homes), that would need a licensed contractor before we come in. We’ll let you know if we spot something that looks outside our scope.

How long does an attic clean-out take?

Most attics take one to three hours depending on volume and access. Larger floored attics with heavy accumulation take longer. We’ll give you a realistic estimate once we know what we’re working with.

Can you do the attic and the garage or basement in the same visit?

Yes. If you want the garage clean-out done in the same visit, we can combine it into one job. Many customers clear multiple spaces at once; it’s more efficient and usually more cost-effective.

Is there a minimum charge?

Yes, jobs start at $149. That covers small loads. Most attic clean-outs run above the minimum depending on volume.
